Canadian Hemp Foods

Grown in Canada our raw, whole hemp hearts (aka hemp seed hearts or hemp nuts) are the result of mechanical removal of the outer shell of the hemps seeds. Hulled hemp seed hearts have a higher overall percentage of protein and are much sweeter and nuttier in flavor than the whole hemp seed.

The superfood loved by many has a ton of benefits. Hemp seed provides an excellent source of protein because it contains all the 21 known amino acids and, as a plant-based source of protein, stands out for being especially easy for the body to digest and absorb. It is a rich source of B vitamins, dietary minerals such as manganese, phosphorus, magnesium, zinc, iron, and both soluble and insoluble dietary fiber.

Hempseed Oil is mother's nature most perfect oilseed. Canad's cold preesed hempseed oil is of high nutritional value as it contains about 80% as essential fatty acids (EFAs) such as linoleic acid, stearidonic acid, vitamins and antioxidants. The proportions of linoleic acid (LA) and alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) in 1Tbsp per day (15 ml) of hempseed oil easily provides human daily requirements for EFAs. Its 3:1 ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 perfectly matches the balance required by the human body and is thought to improve cardiovascular disorders and boost immunity as well as regulate intestinal flora.

How does hemp taste?  its pleasantly mild and nutty taste and exceptional nutritional density makes it an outstanding addition to a wide variety of foods and beverages including smoothies, energy bars, sprinkled on salads or in dressings, soups, stews, any baked goods. If you're looking for an alternative to dairy milk, try blending one part hemp seed with four parts water to create your own hemp milk.
